What will affect the lamination effect?

Mar 12, 2023

In the printing process, the process flow of the lamination, the selection of raw materials, the ink layer of the printed product, etc., may directly affect the effect of the lamination.

1. The poor drying of the ink layer of printed matter is extremely harmful to the quality of the coating. The factors that affect the drying of

  • the ink layer are:
  • the type of ink;
  • the selection of drier during the printing process;

the ambient temperature and humidity in the storage room;

When the ink is not completely dry, the coating will have a negative impact on the quality of the coating. The high-boiling solvent contained in the ink can easily cause the plastic film to swell and elongate, and the expansion and elongation of the plastic film is the cause of the product after coating, also is the most important reason for bubbles and delamination).

2. The useage of ink diluents Ink diluents are substances that can lighten the color of inks. Commonly used ink diluents include white ink, velvet oil and varnish.

3. Types of printing inks It is recommended to use fast-fixing glossy offset printing ink for printed products processed by lamination process. The binder of fast-fixing glossy offset printing ink is composed of dry vegetable oil, synthetic resin, high boiling point kerosene, and a small amount of colloid.

4. Pressure: The amount of pressure applied laminator during lamination can affect the quality of the finished product. Too much pressure can damage the material, while too little pressure may result in incomplete lamination.
