The 134th China Import and Export Fair recently opened. The total exhibition area, the total number of booths and the number of exhibitors at this year's Canton Fair have all reached record highs. Canton Fair is one of the important windows to observe China's foreign trade, and the continued growth of relevant data reflects the positive changes in China's foreign trade. This and other recently released data corroborate each other, indicating that China's foreign trade high-quality development of "stable" foundation is more solid, showing a strong resilience and innovation and vitality.
Quantity and structure of double enhancement
This year's Canton Fair online platform exhibitors nearly 29,000, an increase of 2115 over the previous session. The level of intelligence and facilitation of the online platform has been continuously improved, and 101 functions have been optimized. Up to now, exhibitors on the online platform have uploaded about 2.72 million products, including about 700,000 new products.
"This Canton Fair has shown the positive factors for China's foreign trade continue to accumulate during the preparation period." Qu Weixi, vice president of the International Trade and Economic Cooperation Research Institute of the Ministry of Commerce, introduced the increase in the number of exhibitors, many specialized, special new "small giants", manufacturing industry individual champions, national high-tech enterprises to actively participate in the exhibition. New energy, industrial automation and other high technology content, high value-added new exhibits numbered nearly 100,000 pieces.
As the largest exhibitors, the current Canton Fair private enterprises accounted for 90%. The newly released foreign trade data for the first three quarters show that China's private enterprises imported and exported 16.34 trillion yuan, up 6.1% year-on-year, accounting for 53.1% of China's total import and export value. "Private enterprises continue to act as the main force of China's exports, the vanguard of brand building, and the leading importer of consumer goods." Ni Yueju, a researcher at the Institute of World Economics and Politics at the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, said.
